I just ran the Windows 7 upgrade advisor and was surprised when it reported that my R61 (2GB RAM, x3100 integrated graphics, 14.1" display) doesn't support the Windows Aero user interface. Micro$oft's website claims "128-megabyte (MB) graphics card, DirectX 9 class graphics processor that supports a Windows Display Driver Model Driver, Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware, and 32 bits per pixel." I know the integrated graphics are supposed to borrow system RAM as necessary but is this insufficient?
So is this true? Will an R61 with integrated graphics run the Aero interface? I've just grabbed the $29 Win7 deal but will be really disappointed if the user iinterface is clunky.

aero runs fine on the X3100. i've used aero under both vista and 7 on my X61s without issue.

Yeah, several users have posted saying the Win7 Upgrade Advisor deemed their GPU to be too inferior for Windows Aero. The X3100 will run Aero just fine, though, so do not worry.

The Win 7 suppose to be less hardware intensive than Vista, so if the X3100 can run the aero effects, i don't see why the X3100 can't run the Win 7.

Thanks, all, for confirming this.
Will my R61 with integrated graphics run Win 7's aero glass effects?
