    Will my new t61 15.4 with a 9 cell fit in the North Face Recon?

    I've google my brains out and searched on this forum for about an hour. It seems confirmed that a t60 15.4 inch fits fine, and a t61 with a nine cell does not fit in a surge, but I think the recon is bigger.

    Anyone know for sure? There is no accurate data on the pocket size and I don't have a ruler or my t61 :( .

    i have a 14.1 inch thinkpad with a standard 4 cell battery and its pretty snug, i would say a 15.4 could fit with a 6 cell, but a 9 cell might be pushing it.

    It'll fit laptops of the following dimensions:

    14.5" x 11" x 2"

    Seeing how the T61 is around 10" and you're tacking another .5" or so for the 9cell, it's going to be a tight fit.

    I am using my North Face Recon II right now.
    It fits my T61 14' with 6 cell battery sticking out.
    It JUST fits.

    I don't think it will fit ur 15.4' T61 with 9 cell.

    but you can try it since I don't know how much wider will the 15.4 T61 be.

    why the heck can't you just take the battery off when you put it in? surely your laptop is OFF when you put it in?

    I can confirm that the 15.4" T61 with 9-cell battery does NOT fit into the laptop compartment of the Surge backpack. It does however fit into the second main compartment with no problem at all.
