I want to order a T60p 14.1" 4:3 and want to know if it will come with the classic IBM logo both on palm rest and top of panel or if they will use the new ThinkPad logo. Personally, I really want the IBM logo. Anyone know? I can't rely on a Lenovo rep because it seems people on this forum are more informed than they are.

worst case scenario you can pick one up from ebay

Not with the configuration I want. Must have:
T7600
Vista Ultimate
6 cell battery
100GB HDD, 7200rpm
I've never seen such a configuration, new/sealed, on eBay. Otherwise I wouldn't be contemplating paying taxes and waiting until July for delivery. -

Why does it matter what logo is on your laptop? If it was just as good and instead of thinkpad said fartpad would you not buy it?

Well said xnviews. It's just the fact BIG BLUE sold us out, they're sell outs, And people want their thinkpads to be IBM branded. I saw my first thinkpad when I was 13, It was a 386DX 33Mghz monochrome 12" screen. I new then when I was old enough to get one I'd have to get a thinkpad and now I do .It appealed to me at such a young age, the red eraser looking trackpoint so cool, the stylish black color, unparalleld build quality and ergonomical engineering. I'd seen other notebooks but they all looked liked scraps of twisted metal or painted pizza boxes. Nostalgia is a beautiful thing!!! IBM THINKPAD BABY

The logo on the T60P should remain intact. Only T61 and newer models are getting the lenovo branding. Even on the T61 international models will still have the IBM badge I've heard that before but I am not 100% sure.

I don't think they use the new logo on the 60 series notebooks... I thought they only started using it on the 61 series... I could be wrong, though.

That's a burn!
I thought andrew said you still get the Thinkpad/IBM combo logo except for corporate direct orders. THat web orders would still have IBM on them.
Though all the ones ive seen, in all the reviews, have ibm nowhere to be seen on them, No way is that mere coincidence.
Yeah, you;re right, it's shouldn't matter. But to me it's actually part of the aesthetics moreso than just having a brand name on it. "IBM" looks good, "Thinkpad" looks cheap. imo, ymmv. the colors, the font, it's more of a graphic than just an acronym. the "thinkpad" alone- skinny, silver, weak looking. I don't know, same reasoning why I like tp's all black.
If you really don't care, even a little bit, about aesthetic details like that, then you woiuldn't care about anything that doesn't affect function, So you wouldn't care if it had an image of Dustin Diamond (no beard) giving an enthusiastic thumbs up with his mouth open (textured into the lid so you cant paint over it).
So for me? Yes...

I agree the IBM logo looks better but come on it's a bit anal. I'm anal about a lot of things but not a small logo.

The poll will only worsen the confusion here.
If the T/R61 is any clue, this is how it stands:
Retail customer ordered models from Lenovo: IBM
"Top Seller" Pre-configged models from resellers: IBM
Corporate ordered models from Lenovo: IBM OR TP logo
I was under the impression that the Top Sellers and Retail ones would have the TP logo, but from the posts I've read on both messageboards, this is the way it is for the 61s -
Good news- I thought I remembered something about 5 years & the logo:
For those of us who care, let's hope he's right! -

That should be stickied. It's the definite answer.
Will new order T60p have classic IBM logo or new ThinkPad logo?
