T60p is finally out. I want to buy a 2623DDU but people keep saying that we should wait for a few months for better quality. Will one month or two really make the quality different?
Here is what I believe. Since the production is released out to the market, it is hard to make changes. It requires a full circle of design/development/test before any changes can be implemented into the production line. Therefore waiting a few months won't make any difference. Only T61 can fix the problems in T60. Am I correct?
Being a software programmer, I don't know about the hardware development process. Could someone clarify?
Thanks

Normally I would say, that there is some analogy to the automobile industry here, where the last models of a long time running series are usually the best of it's series, since all bugs and weak components have been replaced during the long time running production process (...related to cars the early adopters are the beta testers of that industry).
However, the IT hardware sector is a much faster moving domain than the automobile industry and thus approaching with quicker and shorter series changes, so it's difficult to say if new notebook models will be reworked during their series lifetime.
So what would I recommend? Well, if you don't have yet and immediately a real need for a T60p, you should wait a little bit in order to see what early adopters/reviewers report about the T60p. If the critics are good, you are a little bit more on the secure/sure side and can go to order one. - All in all I would say let's wait and see...
