According to Notebook Review, http://www.notebookreview.com/price/default.asp?productFamilyID=960&display=priceDetail&ref=list, the Lenovo Thinkpad T61 will have an ATI Mobility Radeon X1800 option. I am curious if this is true. We will know in about a month, I am going to make a prediction.

I'm going to say mistake...I doubt that even lenovo could cram a X1800 in a 15" notebook...
But, I could be wrong. -
I doubt it, also the x1800 is obsolete since the x1900 is already out.
-
I think somebody pressed an 8 instead of a 7...
The T60p already has an x1700 (v5250) so its reasonable to assume that the T61 will also have the same or similar. -

Why wouldnt it be something like a X2x00? Wont they be DX10 on the next line?
-
Is there any significant differences in size between x1700 and x1800 card? Shouldnt be ATI create x1800 mobile version that will fit onto notebook platform?
-
It's all over the net,
They can do it,but it'll turn the Thinkpad into a good imitation of cinders...
Or a very noisy tractor... -
-
the current T60p has an X1700?? didnt know the v5250? was the equilvalent of that...

I am optimistic it will have the ATI X1800.
 :rolleyes2:
-
ain't X1800 a power sucker? or am i wrong?
i want some integrated graphics + DX10 on the next version. that would be cool enough to suit my needs -
I would highly doubt that the x1800 makes it into the T61(p).
Why? It is somewhat outdated. There is already x1900 in existence in 17" FuSi Amilo`s DTR-s. Both of them are hot and would gobble the battery up too fast. If ASUS can cram Intel`s Conroe desktop processors into a 15,4" notebook or a Go7700 into a 14" package (A8Js), doesn't mean Lenovo/IBM can. ASUS is ASUS, lol
Besides the design constraints would be less-than-desireable in a business notebook, such as a really big and/or noisy fan to cool the CPU, chipset and the hot powerful GPU/VPU. Just look at the ASUS C90`s cooling system, there is no place for it in a notebook such as a T61. -

Lenovo already puts the ATI Mobility Fire GL V5250 256MB video card into their Lenovo T60. This is a slight variation, but it is equally powerful to the ATI X1700 and the GeForce Go 7700. ASUS is nothing special.
-
The V5250 is exactly the same as the x1700. It just has CAD optimized drivers.
-
wow then i think the t60 has a good chance of being my next notebook. does the t60 widescreen come with the ati v5250?
nevermind, just found out it does on lenovos site. -

There is currently talk on thinkpads.com forums that the T61 will actually have nvidia quadro graphics rather than ATI. So this discussion may be moot.

What kind of nVidia card is being used on the Dell 820?
-
Homer_Jay_Thompson blathering blatherskite
The nVidia Quadro NVS 110M or 120M depending on the option.
-
I never seen any Thinkpad that uses a Nvdia card so it's pretty doubtful.
-
i agree wit johnny001
-
Now we know, nVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M.
-
is it a new type of Nvidia? I am not familiar with NVdia naming scheme.
-
Will the Lenovo Thinkpad T61 have the option of an ATI Mobility Radeon X1800 video card?
