I want to buy a T61p for Grad School. I will be using it for CAD modeling (SolidWorks and Pro-E) regularly. None of my CAD software is compatible with Vista yet, and I don't want to have to buy new software once they release a vista compatible version.
Now that the T61 with discrete graphics has removed the choice of XP Pro, do you think the T61p will follow suit? I'm on the verge of buying a T60p just for that reason, not to get stuck with Vista as my only choice.

Since they are offering the T61 with XP Pro, my guess would be yes.

I wonder what happened to the orders that had XP Pro. or Business 64 on them -- since these options are no longer available any more.
Moreover, I wonder why XP is no longer an option... -
Professionals will be using XP quite for a while -
to clarify: The T61 with discrete graphics does not offer XP Pro as an option anymore. The T61 with integrated graphics does.
I went ahead and ordered a nicely spec'd T60p with XP Pro last night. My ship date is June 15th, so if the T61p comes out before then (and there is a decent sale) I can change my order. -
The OEM license for Vista Business and Ultimate include downgrade right to run XP. The home licenses do not. I'm not sure how to get the media and activate it, but it might be worth getting Vista Business and using the downgrade option to leave Vista as a future option.

Will the T61p be offered with XP Pro?
