BTW, it's an R61, and the battery-light is blinking orange.
I use it as a desktop, never as a mobile.
So i'm wondering if it's better for this laptop to remove the battery, or if it doesn't matter either way?
Thanks!

But when i pull it, there's some raw metal prongs there, that seem to be waiting for another battery to be connected. Is that dangerous or something?

Just don't stick any metal pieces in there and you'll be fine.

I don't know for sure if it's totally dead.
Rather i know the battery-icon is blinking orange. I also know that the outgassing chemicals on this R61 has been zapping my sinuses/throat/head and been fighting flu all day. Flu is winning.Last edited: Jan 1, 2019 -
If you're using Power Manager, it will tell you the remaining charge capacity of the battery. I say leave the battery in. It's not hurting anything.

Will thinkpad be OK with dead battery seated inside?
