I did it through the CA educational website, but i'm not sure if i can depend on it to actually go through. I've heard stories of some people's orders not actually being processed.

Why do you think it won't get processed?

It should all go well as long as you attend a school in CA.

Then you can't buy one from the education site. It's for education and the contracts between Lenovo and schools in the states. That's why the price is way cheaper.

I just ordered mine from the CA education portal a few days ago and mine had a very similar configuration. It shipped three days after I placed the order and I'm just currently waiting for it to arrive.

yes, you need a validated university email address. i tried using my regular email address and it would not let me purchase the computer. however, once i used my school email address...it went through no problem at all.

that's true. i put in an education order, and a rep called me 10 minutes later to confirm the specs and tell me when to expect shipment. i placed an employee purchase order through my dad 2 weeks prior to placing the education order, and nothing happened. no email responses, no calls from reps.

i think educational orders are high up on the priority lists.

    True?
That's an assumption on your part.
I don't know what happened to your employee purchase order, my experience with Lenovo's order processing proved to be extremely fast.
My first order (EPP) got shipped two days after the placement date.
My second non-EPP order got shipped in three days.

i guess that's an assumption, but it's already happened to my dad twice. two years ago he placed an order for a t42 through the epp program and waited 4 weeks for it to arrive at the door. this time i placed an order for a t61p through the epp program and got fed up after waiting 3 weeks with no shipping status yet.
i'll admit that i was impatient, but after noticing how people who ordered the same model as me a week after me had already had their systems shipped kind of annoyed me. so i canceled and went through the education site and was surprised by the quick turnaround time.

interestingly enough, they also upgraded my shipping to express. i think it must be because i've called in many time asking about the epp purchase so when i switched, it got their attention? either way, i'm happy with lenovo right now :)

Does it say express on your tracking or expedited?

Both of my orders also got upgraded to express.
It has nothing to do with calling or EPP.

Weird.. both of mine are expedited. We'll probably be getting our computers at around the same time.
