hi i keep reading that there a heating problem concerning the hard drive because it in the middle of the cpu and gpu. So I am planning to relocate the main HDD to DVD position for better cooling. Will this help with the heat problem?

As an authorized Lenovo Technician, I can tell you that so long as there no obvious signs of physical damage, your warranty should not be affected by removing your optical drive, so long as that when it is returned to the depot for repair, you put it back like you got it.
