As the title states, will a Windows vista x61s charge while sleeping? I would like to be able to charge the machine while it is in my backpack while in a class that I don't need the machine for. I guess I could change the power settings so that the machine doesn't sleep on lid close, but I like that feature at other times (like moving around between other classes) and don't want to constantly change that setting back and forth.

Yes it should still charge while sleeping. It can charge while the laptop is off too.

As a bonus the battery can recharge faster with the laptop sleeping or off/hibernating since the AC power supply doesn't have to power up the CPU and related power hungry circuits.
