We have an XP-based program that I have to run (a custom database). I was thinking of upgrading to Win 7 and running XP as a virtual machine. For those of you who have played with the Win 7 beta/RC/RTM, what does it take to install XP on a Lenovo Thinkpad? Lenovo doesn't give us the XP disks. How did you do it?

I searched the Lenovo threads but I couldn't find the answer to this one.

    Thanks in advance.

If you are talking about the virtualization you just download the virtual PC software and the XP image provided.

It is pretty easy. You don't need a separate license if you have the proper Windows 7 license (not all windows 7 licenses support the virtual PC addon).

My error, Jaredy. I had heard that you had to have your own XP license (i.e. MSFT wasn't providing one free with Win 7).

    Thanks! That solves the problem.
