So Ive been running the RC for several months with no problems. I decided to do a reformat recently partly because I was bored but also because I noticed a small glitch with my mouse that was bothering me.
Well anyway, now that Ive reformatted, using the same x64 .iso as my last install and attempting to install the exact same drivers as the previous install, I'm running into problems and its annoying the hell out of me.
1. I'm trying to install this Integrated Display driver 7.15.10.1752 that I grabbed from the lenovo site. I have switchable graphics, but only have the integrated card enabled.
Everytime I attempt to install it I get the message that "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements to install the software".
Same driver I installed previously and now its giving me this message.
2. The Conexant audio driver I installed previously does not want to install. It tells me that installation fails because it cannot find the device for the driver.
So why is it that I'm running the same OS, attempting to install the same drivers, yet I'm running into these problems?
HELP!
also, I would try the RTM but I cant find it anymore and didnt bother to grab it when it was widely available.

Perhaps something from Windows Update has altered something. In any event, I just used the Microsoft driver for both of these devices when I installed the RC and RTM and havent had any issues outside of the corruption issues with Intels driver. For what its worth, the ATI driver works fine.

yeh I understand. the microsoft drivers arent bad but...
1. the display driver doesnt allow me to bring the brightness as far down as the intel driver i described.
2. i feel like the microsoft audio driver just doesnt get the audio quite as loud as the conexant driver.
7 weeks til windows 7 launch. hopefully we get some real drivers a few weeks before launch. -
Considering the product hasnt been officially launched yet, Im pleased with the current support.
