Hi guys, I just did a clean install of WinXP on my T61. I've installed all the drivers that I know if and anything seems to be working fine, but I still have one Unknown Device in my Device Manager. I don't now what driver to install for it. Anyway this is what it says on the Unknown Device.
"on Intel(R) ICH8M-E LPC Interface Controller - 2811"
Under Details - Device Instance Id it says "ACPI/ATM1200\4&374CCB25&0"
Do you know which device driver I need for this device?
thanks...

do you have readyboost/turboboost/whatever it's called? it's not supported by XP
-
I dont think I have that
-
Oh, I think that's the "Atmel" thing. I had the same issue when I removed vista and installed XP. You can find the drivers on IBM's website.
-
Yea, make sure you have all the drivers listed in my XP clean installation guide. (see sig).

I am still stuck with one driver not loading.
It says unknown device with an ! in it.
It is the old ACPI/ATM1200\4&374CCB25&0
I have loaded the INTEL amt drivers, AACPI power management, power manager and just about anything I can think of.
I have noticed by looking a T61 that was set up with the Lenovo build I do not have SM Driver SM bios service or SM bus sevice. I was told that these were card reader which I have loaded.
I am under the gun to get this system up and running and at my wits end.
Any other suggestions?
My other question would be is this something I can do without?
Thank You

the SM Driver is the chipset driver for intel. you can get it from the xp install guide. make sure you download the notebook chipset and not the desktop chipset
Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility*: http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets
Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver for Windows XP**: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...cid=migr-62909
you also might to re-install this but i think that the above will fix your problem.
RAID/AHCI Software***: Even though the download page says Matrix Storage Manager like the above driver, it is not the same. You need the above driver because it allows you to switch to AHCI Mode, which is necessary to install this software.
***Only install this if your system supports it. The following are supported:
Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family
WinXP Install - Can't find driver for this Unknown Device
