I have a new x301 that i am dual booting with Windows 7. Most everything installed Ok but I am having issues finding drivers for my Verizon wwan card.

The card that came with the system is a Qualcomm HD-USB 9202
It is listed as FRU# 42T0961 on the Lenovo parts lookup
The ID from device manager is USB\VID_05C6&PID_9202&REV_0001&MI_03

This is the only driver I have been able to find: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-69999.html
It is version 1.0.9 and was released very recently - 4/2/2009.
I am using the Vista version of this driver, but the problem is that this driver will not load. It gets most of the way done installing the Qualcomm Gobi driver, but then errors saying it is not compatible with this platform. I have tried installing it in Vista compatibility mode with the same results.

I tried using Verizon's VZ access manager, but couldn't get it to install correctly either.

I am using Windows 7 on several other boxes and REALLY like it, but this will be a deal breaker for the x301 since I have to be able to user the Verizon card on the road.

    Any ideas?

Does anyone have any input on this? I REALLY want to use Seven. I am using it on my desktop at work and also at home and I'm really hating having to transition to Vista on my new x301.

I'm 99% sure the driver will work if I can somehow fool it into installing. Is there a way to masquerade it as Vista to get it installed?

    Thanks for any direction

Is it a Qualcomm Gobi chip? Does that driver work under Vista?

Well I guess 7 handles WWAN differently than Vista. It is beta software afterall.

WIndows 7 RC1 same problem, with T400 from Verizon. The vista driver installs, but pressing FN/F5 to invoke the WWAN doesn't work. Verizon Access Manager installs fine. It just won't go past the place where is says WWAN is turned off.
