My Config: x200s with 4GB RAM and 2GB Turbo Memory, Intel 5100 Wifi

Installation runs fine and correct ethernet/wifi drivers are installed by default. However, 64-bit Vista drivers for Intel AMT, turbo memory, and matrix storage manager do not install. Lenovo System Update installed and ran fine, but when I tried updating the above specifics, its log shows that they were installed, but not really. If I run System Update again, it reports missing drivers again. Anyone else get it working with all drivers installed?

Update: tried installing the drivers manually, and received error messages that the system was not the correct one. Tried installing them again using 'compatability mode.' Same errors.

Generally, don't use System Update if you can avoid it. The safest way to install drivers for Thinkpads is to go straight to the driver matrix and install them manually. If you want to be extra safe, restart after every driver (at least for the major ones).

I had the same problems with Storage Manager. I tried all the compatibility options and after 5 failures it installed. Don't know why.

At least on my x200s, System Update has reliably installed all drivers correctly on Vista 64 bit. It takes multiple trips though because it needs to install certain base drivers first before finding and installing others, but in the end nothing's missing and everything works fine. I did go the manual route though when it failed for Windows 7. I got more direct error messages saying the system was incompatible with the drivers. Tried running the driver install using 'compatibility mode' but same result.

fwiw, system update installs drivers and apps in a predetermined order set by lenovo.   it takes the list of software/apps you choose to install and systematically decides the correct order to install them.   it's by far the safest way to install drivers and has been since the days of IBM software installer (which worked on the same method).

I concur, though the x200s is the only TP I've ever owned. The only issue I've discovered is that there seems to be a lag between updates available to install manually vs System Update with the former being available first. For instance, Lenovo has released a whole slew of updates on 1-05-09 (Bluetooth, Active Disk Protection, etc.) on their support site, and System Update is showing them yet.

Lenovo has this somewhat out-of-sync. The drivers on the driver matrix page are also not necessarily the latest versions either—sometimes newer drivers can be found on the driver page for your model.
