Anyone seen these? I'm waiting on mine (with somewhat baited breath, because then I can truely finish setting up my machine).
Mine just says "Pending payment" has done for months![]()
-
Months? I thought you could just start requesting it just a few weeks ago?
-
I have told you a million times not to exaggerate!!!!11oneone

Well 7 has only been out for a couple weeks almost and someone has said that Lenovo has begun processing as they received word for their disk shipment in japan.
-
Mine was shipped yesterday (W7 64bit Professional), so we'll see how long it takes to get here. I got my laptop a couple of weeks ago and ordered W7 around October 25th or so.

"Well 7 has only been out for a couple weeks almost and someone has said that Lenovo has begun processing as they received word for their disk shipment in japan."
Jeremy,
It has been on the market since October 22nd but MSDN has had it for approximately two months longer. For example, MVP's have had access to it for about two moths longer.
Renee -
Who is Jeremy? And of course MSDN has had W7's various builds and RTM. Retail release has only been out for a couple weeks to the public.
MSDN has no bearing on lenovo shipping out W7 disks for people who are eligible for a free update. -
Mine is showing in a "Pass (payment made)" status?
It's been that way since 10/25. I should have just ordered my upgrade through my University, it would have been $15 more and I'm sure it would have gone out a heck of a lot faster.
Update: Got UPS shipment confirmation on 11/5.
Anyone know where these are coming from? -

Can someone please tell me if the upgrade is W7 EE or just the generic one?
Thanks! -
generic, i believe
-
Thanks for the reply - is that for sure? If yes, is there a way to get the W7EE somehow for an existing system? Does it make a lot of difference in the end?

Your Windows 7 upgrade varies considerably depending on when you bought the OEM Vista copy, and especially if your computer was purchased in the time window where a free copy was given.
Licensing also dictates when you can receive the upgrade. Therefore the big question you need to ask is and what you need to provide is: How are you getting your licensed copy? OEM through Lenovo? Retail elsewhere? Are you hitting grey areas buying an OEM license from the likes of aftermarket computer parts companies like Newegg??
What are you talking about EE? You mean the (E)uropean (E)ditions which are actually "N" designations (or "K" for South Korean)? Or are you talking about The (E)nterprise (E)dition (which is just Enterprise)?
Functionally and from a capability standpoint, Ultimate and Enterprise are identical. The difference lies in how they are licensed and that Enterprise can use volume licensing and is available through Software assurance agreements for lots of quantities/seats. This is advantageous if a company needs to deploy several machines without worrying about the retail licensing headaches of Ultimate.
Short answer: If you are asking where to get Enterprise and you didn't know the differences between Ultimate and Enterprise, then you 1) don't need it 2) can't get it and instead I will just tell you to buy a retail license of Ultimate. -
EE = Lenovo Enhanced Experience

My copy came in today. The sticker doesn't appear to peel off the CD sleeve the way Vista's did...not sure how, or if, they're expecting us to affix the COA.
-
Mine is in route as of 19 November. It say I'm getting W7 pro 64 bit. My original license was for Vista Business 32-bit
-
Ok it finally arrived yesterday ,,so i paid for it 10/25/09 and it came 11/20/09 .
-
Cereal Killer,
Don't worry, the licensing agreement does not distinguish between 32 and 64 bits.

I signed up for 64 and got it, even though my laptop came with XP.
HP, on the other hand, wouldn't give me 64 bit. -
