    Hello Everyone,

I hate asking a question as my first post on a new forum but hell - the question is the only reason I found you guys!

I'm upgrading from XP to Windows 7 Ent on my Lenovo T61.

The install went great and everything is working EXCEPT my wireless internet.

The wireless signal icon in the systray just says "no networks found"

I checked my device manager and it says the drivers were installed and everything was working. I even uninstalled them and reinstalled the drivers from the Lenovo website with no luck. I also installed AccessConnections which also picks up no signals in the area.

I live in a densely populated area so I know for a fact there are at least 10+ networks within range.

Any suggestions (and yes, the wifi switch is turned ON)?

Yes - everything worked fine in XP

It is the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AG

The wireless light is NOT lit...

Yes I have tried 3 different drivers now.

Install the Windows 7 beta drivers for the System Interface driver, and the Hotkeys driver. This should allow you to use Fn+F5 to turn the WiFi radio on (it sounds like it is currently turned off). Once done, make sure you install the Windows 7 beta WiFi driver (I'd recommend against installing ThinkVantage Access Connections; just go with the driver).

Thanks for taking the time to help...

I installed both of those Windows 7 beta drivers now but then FN + F5 isn't working. Any others I should be pulling from Lenovo's website?

Have you tried going in the wireless settings and enabling Windows control of the adapter?

I have had mixed success with Thinkvantage with Windows 7. It is working now both with the 4965 and the Sierra WWAN, but the latter was a pain.

I believe much of the issue is with the Lenovo software which allowing Win 7 to manage the wireless will avoid.

Actually I should be more helpful.

Go to Network connections and right click on the 4965 adapter icon and go to properties. Go to Wireless Networks and check the top box that says "Use Windows....etc>."

    Tried that also...

The computer says everything is working just fine it's just not finding any networks in the area...

That and the wireless light isn't lighting up and the hotkeys aren't working - even after installing the drivers.
