I clean installed by laptop a couple of weeks ago and used the keyfinder program to get my cd-key but today I got a message from windows telling me that my copy is not authentic. What do I do?

Zaz gave the best advice but it wasn't complete. NEVER change your OS unless you know you have a key BEFORE you change it. Eventually I'm sure your going to have to purchase a license. There is no "keyfinder" that will work. Another thing that helps is to have a good backup fresh.

Microsoft will tell you that your problem belongs to lenovo. Lenovo will tell you to purchase an operating system.

When I install Windows I usually leave the key blank. Windows comes with a 30 trial. Then after it's installed, you can use your COA key to activate, provided it's the correct version. This has never failed to work for me activating over the internet.

Keyfinder program will give you the OEM license key, which is what all manufacturers use to mass activate all their laptops before shipping out. If you do a clean install, use the key at the bottom of the laptop, as that is the real key, different from laptop to laptop.
