Does this mean it already setup the video card? I’m considering giving this a spin as well.

I am interested in installing Windows 7 Beta 64-bits on my T500. Would it be possible to install 64-bits system on my T500 with Vista Business 32-bits?

If so, how to proceed? Do I need to back up files first and follow the clean install guides? Or could I use the download site as if to upgrade software?

If you don't even know what to do, chances are you'll mess up your computer with Windows 7. It is not meant to be a replacement for Vista, since it is currently in Beta. You're supposed to use it in conjunction with Vista, so that if something goes wrong with Windows 7, you can still fall back on Vista. To dual-boot between Vista and Windows 7, you'll need to create a separate partition on your harddrive and install Windows 7 on that new partition.
If everything I said above is mumbo-jumbo to you, then staying off Windows 7 is my advice.

Most have drivers except fingerprint, and a few other devices that I can't recall on top of my head.

I just installed x64 on my T400. Bunch of drivers are missing for me (maybe 32-bit has more preloaded).

So far, just playing around. I'll try and installing some more stuff later. Haven't tried the ATI drivers yet.

For those of you that currently have Vista installed, you can install Windows 7 alongside it fairly easily. If you don't have a separate partition already, you can create one by 'shrinking' your main partition in Disk Management. Then you can install 7 in the unallocated space. You should shrink it by at least 15-20GB.

I just gave this a spin and 7 found both video cards as well as updated the ATI driver to a newer version via Windows Update. However, even though it found both adapters, it defaulted to the Intel and I have not installed the Power Manager software yet.

I ve installed Power Manager, but the update of the video card (prerelease - Wddm 1.1 Hd3400) can't be installed because the adapter is not turned on (error 800f020b).
I did an update from vista. Any chance a clean install will be a better solution?
Has anybody managed to make switchable graphics work with W7?

I can't comment specifically on the T400, but I did quickly test the 64-bit Windows 7 beta on my W500. I was able to get everything working with the exception of the switchable graphics. This was with the latest Lenovo hybrid video driver and Thinkvantage Power Manager installed. It saw both graphics controllers, but any attempt to switch from the default (Intel) to ATI resulted in no change. I'd expect the same result from your T400.
