I posted this thread few months ago -

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=382865

Check out the attached screen shot also.

In short, display got fragmented after i installed Win 7 in my t500. It seems that so many other people had similar experience.

Today i found that this issue happens only if i turn the Aero Theme on. If i have the Basic theme, then the display works just fine.

    Any ideas?

This could be an issue with my Graphics Card (which is Intel , not ATI). I am concerned that Lenovo might not support this coz my laptop originally came with Vista installed.

    Thanks in advance...

Install latest GPU drivers and make sure you have the right monitor LCD ICM file. If that doesnt help points to a GPU problem. What happens with Aero in Vista?

Thanks Mr.KL. I have updated the latest video drivers. It did not solve the problem. Do you think I should i update the bios also?

I am not sure how to check the ICM file. I have faced the same issue when i connected my Laptop to an external monitor. Does that rule out possibility of an issue with the monitor?

I could not verify in vista, the moment i got the laptop, i erased everything and clean installed Win 7 :D

Your gpu probably has a problem. Run a GPU artifacting test on it. It most likely has nothing to do with windows 7 or drivers since you updated them.

How can i do a "GPU artifacting test"?

    FWIW, Win xp works perfectly.

Try reverting back to an older driver. I'm guessing you have the IGP? I had the same problem on mine with the 8.15.10.1968 driver. Try going back to the 8.15.10.1855.

@XFlameWithin : I have an integrated GPU, not ATI.

    Well...

Mine came with 7 Pro 64bit installed. I do not have any problem using integrated video. However, there is something odd when I switch to HD3650.
Maybe the driver needs some works.
