My T400 didn't come with a Vista OS disc. I preordered the windows 7 upgrade cd but I want to do a clean install, is this possible without having the vista cd? The upgade cd is different from the full windows 7 cd?

I am interested in knowing this as well if anyone knows. Except I have Windows XP (Lenovo did not provide official disc, so only recovery partition present). How will we verify that our copies of Windows are legit if we do not have the CD?

There is an answer to that question. Get a CREF (cross reference) of a known good copy and simply compare the two. A good example of a CREF is an MD5 or MDA5. Usually distributions maybe named with a name string name + CREF.

You must use the same, or one that has the same library, to make the comparison.
