I have a Lenovo T430. If I install windows 8 on a new partition, will I have to install all the drivers and apps I already have on windows 7 to windows 8? Or is there a way to just trasnfer? For those running windows 8 how is it?

If you install on a new partition, you will have to re-install all your drivers and programs. I don't really think there is a practical way to transfer at this time, unless you do an upgrade-install.

I am running W8 on my HP Slate 500 tablet and it is interesting. I like the Metro (errrr ... W8) touch interface. It is still glitchy ATM, which will hopefully change when RTM becomes readily available in the next day or so. Most W8 drivers are still beta versions. They have their issues. If you want to experiment, I suggest dual booting W7/W8 so that you can experiment with W8 without loosing the stability of W7. As far as your x86 programs, I tried to simply link W8 to the locations of the old programs and run them inplace but was having too many problems and just copied the programs onto the new partition. Everything ran smoother after I did that.

I don't get W8 on a conventional laptop. The Metro interface makes no sense and the lack of a Start menu makes it harder to navigate in W8 on a conventional laptop. I am keeping W7 on my Thinkpad X301 and all of the other equipment in my office.
