Has anyone successfuly copied the contents of the Windows Anytime Upgrade hidden directory (C:\WAUUPGRD) to some form of flash memory (USB or SDHC) and booted from that flash memory to do a clean install of Windows Vista? If so, is there anything in particular to look out for.

It seems like it would be possible and pretty straight forward - the directory contains BOOTMGR, etc. I just wanted to get your experiences before I go out and buy 4 GB of flash memory - the contents of the WAUUPGRD directory is 2.5 GB so 2 GB of flash would be insufficient.
