My T61 came with the Windows Vista disc. I put the disc in and clicked on install; I waited for several minutes and my computer restarted itself. Then I got the blue screen showing IRQL_NO_LESS_OR_EQUAL.

Now every time when I turn on my laptop it'll go to a screen where I have to select either windows start up or windows vista. If I choose windows start up the blue screen will come up again. If I choose windows vista then it'll just start up normally like before.

I wish I never would have put that disc in. Does anyone know how I can delete what was downloaded from the CD so that I don't get that screen asking what windows I want to choose?

This actually isn't that hard of a fix...when I reformated my laptop for the first time I accidently installed two version of xp...except one of them wasn't actually installed...there was no partition on the drive for it and my drive was completely full.
First check and make sure that there is no partition for it and that it is not installed anywhere on you drive...it shouldn't be I'm guessing. Then go to (I'm not sure if since it's vista but i assume it's similar) open your system properties via the control panel...click on the advanced tab...click on startup and recovery settings and then click edit under the system startup. Then this link should help you from there: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/289022 Go ahead delete the line about the windows start up and make sure you make your's look like thier example...except with the vista part instead of xp. Another option is using the thinkvantage start up and recovery option...just click the blue button on the the upper left corner of the keyboard and follow the steps...! Of course you'll restore you'll entire computer back to that point. You may want some of the other people to reply as they are experts and I am not but the first option worked for me.

    Two questions also...
Your T61 came with a Vista CD...?
Why where you trying to install Vista over what was already there...?

I don't see what you're saying. I don't see any recovery option when I hit the thinkvantage button and when I go to the control panel I don't see the advanced tab.

To answer your question it came with the Vista Anytime Upgrade DVD and I was trying to do a fresh install hoping that will make my computer faster.

From my experience it's better to reformat the entire drive then install the os...I've always had more luck that way...although I've never done it on a new machine (always old ones I've had for a few years) and I've never done it with Vista...so it's not something I'm recomending for you because it looks like you only have an upgrade disc. Did you try going the other system properties way...? Oh and don't forget to make a back up or restore CD via the thinkvantage button. Give yourself as many back up solutions as possible.
