I have a z61t that I had done a clean install of Windows Vista. At first the computer booted fast but now it takes over 10 minutes to turn on. The computer turns on and stalls saying "Please Wait..."
I can hardly handle it... Any suggestions on what is wrong? Thank you!

hrmm... that usually happens when you install an update. since you just recently reinstalled vista, maybe it's autoinstalling updates for the first several times that you are running it.

It has been a while now and I have already installed all of the updates. It is so frustrating that I often use my a20m with Windows 2000 because it boots faster. How would I troubleshoot this problem?

how long did the computer boot quickly for? was it like a matter of months?
and how long did the problem come about? was it something that came gradually as it got slower and slower? or did it all of a sudden come about? -
It has been a few weeks. I never timed the boot before but it was maybe a minute or two. I just timed it now and it is 11 minutes before I can login.
Now that I think of it, the Security Client Login appearance has changed slightly. At one point I had to clear the security chip in BIOS after the Vista install. Could this messed it up? Can I simple remove the Security Client or will that leave me with a useless laptop?
