    I am doing a clean install and have a quick question.

    Why do I have to Set AHCI to Compatibility and do I install the drivers in this mode. Or, when do I set it back to AHCI.

    Read the Windows XP Clean Install Guide in my signature. If you have any questions, feel free to post there.

    You have to set AHCI to Compatibility or else the OS CD won't detect your HDD.
