    Hello:

    Looking for Windows XP recovery media for t61p (6459 CTO, 15.4", Nvidia 570M) and reached Lenovo Support & downloads - Recovery DVD service parts - Recovery DVD service parts - R61, R61i, and T61 (14.1-inch widescreen); ThinkPad T61 and T61p (14.1-inch); R61, R61e, R61i, T61, T61p (15.4-inch widescreen)
    Here are the part numbers:
    03W7112 replaces 46V3506 replaces 44Y2596
03W7112 seems to be the latest and I get only one hit on google, the page listed above.

What is the difference between these three parts?

Hoping to pay and download--2 weeks down the drain and would rather not wait another 2 weeks.

I am in India and Thinkwiki says "India, just a plain "not possible"".

Any suggestions? Please PM or post here.

    Best

If you have a serial number, you don't need official recovery media. Before W7, I used to use a slipstreamed version of XP, I made using nlite.

If you want all the original content installed as well as your recovery partition restored, the only way is to order recovery media. Doing a generic install will not recreate the recovery partition, so you will not be able to install Rescue and Recovery (requires an intact recovery partition).

Recovery media isn't that horribly expensive, I paid 40 bucks for my Z61t's XP recovery media from IBM.
