    Hi,

    I want to order a T500 tonight.

I was wondering, if I select Vista Ultimate as my OS, and select the option for Microsoft Windows XP Professional US English RDVD [$0.00], will I also get an XP license?

Or do I need to choose Genuine Windows XP Professional (preinstalled via downgrade rights in Windows Vista Ultimate) to get an XP license? If I do this, will I get both a Vista and XP license?

If none of the above make sense, I basically just want to know if I can get both a Vista and XP license during the order process.

    Thanks

Yes, you do get an XP license (as in, you can legally use those disks to install a legitimate copy of XP on your Thinkpad). I would suggest getting Vista + XP Recovery Disks (which are $0.00 anyway). But definitely give Vista a chance before/if you downgrade - much of the negative hype about Vista is just negative hype. I love Vista much more than XP.

    Thanks.

I use Vista 64-bit on my home PC, but this laptop will be for work, and I am not sure if many of the applications I use work with Vista.
