I noticed that on the Lenovo website, they are now offering a Windows XP Professional DOWNGRADE for users of Vista Business / Ultimate.

    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/s...estyle=lenovo&lndocid=VSTA-DWNGRD#downgrading

Does this mean they will just send you a free copy of XP Pro if you call and ask for it? It seems as though they don''t issue you a cd-key though. How does this work? How can you download updates without a valid xp cd-key?

"The Windows XP Recovery CD set provided by Lenovo does not require any online activation from Microsoft. It is as if it came on the system's preload and contains all required drivers, language support, and applications in addition to the Windows XP operating system software. See Downgrading to Windows XP for more information about downgrading your system to Windows XP."

The whole page seems kind of vague...

    Anybody tried this yet?

they wont give you a cd key but it will be embedded within the cd...just like a regular recovery cd. I'm sure they will give you a COA though.
