    It looks like the industry really doesn't want to make the switch to XP.

    Lenovo had initially set the date to May 20th.

    I wonder what the exact OEM licensing terms are. If June 30th is the last possible ship date for pre-loaded XP machines, then having a cut off date a couple of weeks in advance makes sense.

    Yeah, May 20th was the original date Lenovo had set. Starting May 21st, they were going to offer the "Downgrade to XP DVD" option with Vista Business or Ultimate purchases.

    Perhaps they changed their mind since Dell, for example, is offering Vostros with XP until June 18th.

    What still isn't clear to me is how long they intend to run the downgrade-with-DVD option. Anyway, the FatWallet-Lenovo 15% promo runs until the end of May, so maybe I should be paying more attention to that deadline :p
