    Hi there,

I just finished a clean install of Win XP on my T61 using Arkit3kt's ThinkPad SuperGuide (thanks for the great work!). Everything went quite smoothly to get things up and running and configured the way I like. The only thing is that after getting all the required Windows updates and installing what I consider the minimum ThinkVantage apps that I would want (system update, fingerprint software, and presentation director) I find that my Windows boot time is quite long (whereas immediately after the clean install, it was rather quick i.e. about 30-40 secs)

There are a whole bunch of services being loaded at startup and I was wondering if anyone could advise on which of these could be safely disabled in order to speed up the boot process. Any other tweaks or tips would also be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

I did not do a clean install, but would also love to know what programs I can drop from the startup to speed up my startup time.
