Looking at ordering an E430, and there are several wireless adapter options. Laptop will be used at university. Is it worth the upgrade to a Centrino Adapter?

    Options are:

For $20 I would upgrade to the Intel, btw, I ordered an E430 last week when it popped up and today got an email saying it's delayed several weeks. If you need a laptop in a hurry, I'd consider buying from a retailer that has it in stock (some do, check Google Shopping).

Which options did you go for?
Did you upgrade the warranty or take think pad protection?

I am ordering as grad present for my niece, so as long as she has it before Aug, she is happy.

I did not make many upgrades, to be honest I'm just ordering it to review it for a website I run, and I'm curious to tinker with anything new from Lenovo.

Nonetheless, I don't think I'd order extra protection given the E430 is pretty cheap and an extra warranty would be a good percentage of the cost. Use an American Express or Discover Card to order and you'll automatically get an extra year of coverage matched by the credit card company, in effect a 2-year warranty gratis.
