I bought Z60m (Win XP Pro) recently. It has Intel Pro Wireless (11a/b/g) card and it has the latest driver installed on this machine.
Now my problem is sometimes when I try to connect to Wireless network, Suddenly I am getting Blue screen and the System is crashing and restarting again...I am getting the following error..
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, for the driver is w29n51.sys
But it's not happening always. My wireless point is NetGear 11b.
ThinkPad access connections S/w was also not working. It is unable to find any networks, even the wireless switch is ON. So I am using Windows network connection tool to connect to wireless.
I don't have recovery software, as I formatted my PC.
I am getting frustarted with this....Can anybody please help..
Thanks in Advance..

Perhaps an older driver or the one from Intel's site will work better.

Yes, I reformatted my HDD. So I lost all the recovery software. Later I installed all the necessarey drivers by using Software Installer. From then onwards I am getting this problem..

I think I have a similiar problem. I wasn't able to connect wireless with ThinkVantage. I had my company's computer guy to try. He wasn't able to connect with ThinkVantage so he connected with Windows. But now I am having trouble again. I have to connect with a wire connection.

I had the same problem and sent the dumb computer back. It was too fat and heavy anyway. Then, got a T60 with w a crummy 15" XGA thats going back too. Just ordered a 2623 D6U, I hope it works.
I dumped a fine T40 for all these issues???? -
YEAH!!...... I finally got mine fixed.
The problem was with access connections. I have spent hours on this each day for the last few days, including telephone support. Those poor guys....what a tough job
I am now wirelessly accessing the internet with a setup done in Windows. It has come to my attention during this whole ordeal that ThinkVantage and Windows compete over different funtions such as system restore and wireless connecting. This competition has caused me some problems in addition to the mild embarrasment from having the only ThinkPad and being the only one that could not function wirelessly in the office.
I am wondering if it would not be better for me to delete the whold ThinkPad package. Any opinions? -
access connections does seem to have issues with the recent versions of the wireless drivers, I didn't have too much trouble getting wireless to work though. still no access connections functionality, which sucks.
-
...I wish I could delete access connections. The service guy recommended a delete and reinstall but I get an error message when I try to delete.
He told me that a recent update to access connections has a problem. I still have to go to Administration Tools, Services, and start windows zero configeration after each boot. -
weird. windows had no problem uninstalling it from my computer.
-
yeah it's weird, just part of the mystery of computers I guess. The support guy was out of ideas. He seemed reluctant to show me how to disable access connections and give control to Windows. But that is what he ended up doing.
I'm not sure that I see the utility in creating a parallel system to operate some of the things performed by the ThinkVantage system. Especially if the system is not well debugged before being released to the public and then not well corrected. I think that perhaps it is best to standardize this process, and the system restore process, by utilizing Windows. This is how Dell and HP achieve wireless connectivity. This is how a number of unsophisticated users within my office were able to achieve wireless connectivity.
