I've been struggling with sporadic disconnections atleast once a day since early May. My T60 tells me that all my drivers are updated with the latest patches, and I also did a manual reinstall just to be sure. My current wireless adapter is an Intel(R) Pro/Wireless 3945ABG. When disconnection occurs, pressing fn+f5 shows me that my radio connection is still on rather than off and I am unable to toggle the radio's ON/OFF switch, it is simply stuck in ON yet there is no connection.
I uninstalled Thinkvantage Access Connections to see if that would remedy the problem, but nothing has changed.
Any input would be appreciated.

What do you do to eventually restore the wireless connection? Are you having to reboot? I was having a wireless issues related to my Router-Network wireless connection. I was able to fix this issues via WZC (Wireless Zero Configuration).
Method 9: Verify Windows wireless zero configuration
If your notebook cannot make a connection to a wireless network, verify Windows wireless zero configuration. Use the following steps to verify Windows wireless zero configuration.
Click Start .
Click Run .
Type " services.msc " without the quotes.
Locate Wireless Zero Configuration.
Right click Wireless Zero Configuration .
Select Properties .
Under Startup type: select Automatic in not selected.
Under Service status: click Start .
Click OK .
Close Services.
However, this was the fix for my particular issue. I also delete the Thinkadvantage - Access portion.
Hope this helps.

Yes, I do have to reboot in order to reestablish my connection, I located the wireless zero config you suggested but it's labeled as WLAN auto config on my pc. I will be sure to try what you suggested, hopefully everything will be resolved.

If what he suggest does not fix the issue then here is another way to re-enable the wireless when it won't get back on. Right click on the wireless connection icon on the left tray and click "repair".

The Intel(R) Pro/Wireless 3945ABG is not a great card.
I wonder if your card isn't losing connection and the laptop is turning the card off in software.
There is a setting in power management that you have to unset to stop the system from turning the power off on the card. -
Good Luck! -
Sircas,
I'm not arguing with you. I can't. You are running XP and I run Vista. -

Ok, I was able to procure a very a long and possibly the best fix to my problem from somebody on another forum. I will try to do what this person suggest and see if anything improves. The possible fix is as follows
Wireless disconnects and won't turn on afterwords
