You guys know that some laptops don't have this and some do. Some laptops you have to physical turn on/off the switch or you hit FN+Key to turn the wireless.

The reason I'm asking is I'm not really a big fan of the switches because from previous laptops with physical switches, they eventually gets clicky and got worned out from switching it on/off.

So the question I want to ask is that, can I just leave the physical wireless switch to on all the time and just turn off bluetooth/wirless or whatever via the fn+key switch so that the physical switch doesn't get abused? This won't eat up battery if I only turn it off via the FN+key on screen switch?

    Thanks

Yup. I realized my switch was showing some sign of usage (in terms of it's ability to slide to on or off mode) so now I leave it ON and use the Fn whenever I want my wireless on or off.

The only time I use the physical switch is when I can't open and boot up the machine to use the Fn keys.

I only ever use the hardware switch--it's just so much more convenient and less finicky--haven't had a problem with my T500's switch yet. The lack of a switch on my X120e is one of my biggest gripes with this machine, although I can make do.

Fn + F5 works, contrary to popular belief, even if Access Connections is not installed.

I don't use the hardware switch at all.. .only use the Fn+F5 combo all the time.
