Word Up on Delays T61

I ordered a T61 14" WXGA+ today. Per the sales rep the delays are due to shortages on the 7 cell battery (2 months), and the DVD burner (3 to 4 weeks per the site). In fact, they are no longer offering the 7 cell as an option but I had it in my cart and just ordered despite the delay hoping the delay will potentially turn our to be overstated. My est ship date is Jan 2008.

I order a T61 14" WXGA+ with the 7 cell battery and DVD burner on 10/7 with and ESD of 10/25.

I called them and that is what I was told by the rep. I had my config "carted" last night and today before loggin in I noticed 2 changes to the site when configing the same system just to see the price again. The 7 cell is no longer an option and under the DVD burner option there was a note indicating selecting it would delay the order. The rep confirmed this. You ordered on 10/7 so perhaps they have enough parts to build your machine.

 

I hope so. I just got back from South Bend for the game.

You can get that same machine off-the-Shelf. That's a long time to wait for a common set-up.

You could have bought and returned a couple of times-Over in the time that you will be waiting!!!

I looked and not so with the faster drive and warranty and Ultimate and other specifics.

 

wot is the best store for online order and that it has T61?

 

Newegg seems to be OK. For my needs I checked it out thoroughly However I think with the pre configed retail models you would be disasastified with the specs. Ex why would you want a 5400 HDD when you can get a 7200 RPM? You can swap it out but at the end of the day the pricing is better direct.

 

Man,estimated delivery is next year?
I ordered mine in early Oct. and received it on Oct. 17,less than 3 weeks.
They didn't tell me they had problems with 7 cell batteries,this is weird.

Sanchez or Booty as QB?

 

I have an extra 7cell battery for a 14in WS for sale...look at my ad in the classifieds. It is unused. I got an extra one with my order and I never use it. I want to trade it for an ultrabay, but I can also just sell it and get an ultrabay on my own since I think powering of the notebook in order to switch the battery is pointless

 

Received mine yesterday. It came with x32 Vista Ultimate. I just spent the morning updating it to x64. It is a pretty slick machine!

Personally, I like Sanchez. But prefer Booty, if healthy. Sanchez makes me nervous especially when he scrambles. However, he is getting some huge game expereince which will help his development. I can't wait for spring. Mustain and Sanchez competing will be epic.

Can you clarify further what you mean by that TIA

 

It just means that the AC-adapter has to be attached for the depleted main battery to be removed and replaced with a fresh main battery.

This user rather have a bay-battery as a secondary battery that will extend the total up time of the machine.
