In 8 months, I had the following service to my Y560 laptop:

Got my motherboard replaced (2 weeks in service)
The service center forgot to connect the bluetooth cable and got a hinge broken (due to the availability of the parts, it took them 2 months in service, the regional service managers were aware of the case)
Got the motherboard replaced again (1 day, they knew my history so they expedited the service)
Got my LCD replaced due to the appearance of 3 bright spots (2 days), it was replaced by another one with 2 dead pixel in the middle of the screen.
The replacement LCD got replaced by another one, this time the other one has one bright pixel.
The service center denied replacing the third LCD saying that one pixel is fine even though it is a replacement that should be perfectly fine.

This is for an 8 months ownership, i wonder what could happen for the remaining warranty period.

You may think i am a careless owner, but i haven't had any service or repair for my computers or laptops in 21 years, since comodore and sinclair. I also have a very good background at hardware and software.

Is there anybody who is aware of a laptop that had similar number of services?

I bet this could be nominated for Oscar worst service and worst product ever.

Wish I hadn't switched from HP to Lenovo.

If you are in hunt for a laptop, do yourself a favor and run away from Lenovo.

I can give you horrified storries from my clients that streaches across all brands. Dell HP and Acer running neck and neck so far this year. I have one client that has had pretty much everything in is HP laptop replaced but the HD. so if someone takes your advice and goes and buys HP and has a ton of issues then what do you say? You say what we all say (man that sucks and i hope they fix it). There's always going to be issues no matter the company. One of my clients wont buy HP again basically the reverse of your comment. I have clients that say the same about dell. in the end this is just how it is. Toyota recalled what a tribillion cars last year? I know having issues with your laptop sucks and I have been there myself but atleast their trying to make it right and standing by their product which is alot better than Dell calling you up and telling you some BS line about fluid damage so they don't have to eat the parts and labor cost. As far as your screen goes industry standerd is 3 dead piexls for most laptops and 6 for TV's. So if you only have one on a replacement LCD that's pretty good.

I've had a T61P since 2008. I have never recieved anything but top notch service from Lenovo, so much so that I felt fortunate in nov to renew my insurance.

There has to be another variable that you have not identified.

Yeah, ThinkPad is superior to IdeaPad, it is like Envy vs Pavilion for HP.

Maybe i was not lucky, but apparently from Lenovo support site, IdeaPad Y series suffers many problems.

well, one thing you guys have to understand, Lenovo's consumer model notebook (ideapad) and business model notebook (thinkpad) are handle by different service centre, as we all know thinkpad was formerly own by IBM, and their service team actually continue and took over the service and maintenance for all think's products thus, you won't find any service complaint for any of Lenovo's Think's products.

Coming back to the topic, since the Y560 is a ideapad i.e consumer model you would expect a bit lower service standard than those for the Think models. But most of the case they would be able to handle most cases without any trouble, I would say you are the very unlucky one who has multiple fault on the same notebook. I won't say that Lenovo has the worst laptop and service ever as all the desktop and laptop in my company are all Think's models and normally when i login a faulty call they will come the next day and have the faulty part replaced on the spot in my office.

I mean IdeaPad is Lenovo's consumer line. It has been notorious with hinges issues (Y510).

AboutThreeFity had tons of issues with his x100e and ended up getting a replacement after being out to Lenovo so many times.

maybe if you push them they'll replace it for you, acer replaced my girlfriend's almost 3 year old acer travelmate with a brand new acer aspire that was even more expensive than the price she originally paid for the travelmate, so that was a nice bonus!

This is one reason why I advocate adding on-site service to every warranty.

If the notebook never leaves your sight, you can at least watch the work being done.

Your experience is indeed a lousy one, and I can understand your frustration. Depot repair should be as good as onsite is, but depot techs may be more rushed to quickly complete repairs and minimize costs.

And I haven't had a single problem with my y460 after a year of heavy use. Ask for a replacement if sending it in for repairs is not fixing the problem. OP clearly has a lemon.
