Hello, I use the laptop for a long time (1-8 hours) to do work, that is the reasons why I prefer to use the plug compare to battery(Since most battery on less maximum 1 hour ++) but due to Lenovo Y50 doesn't include removable battery [battery sealing in the chassis], so I have to use battery (while it full) & only use the plug for charging. This really bother me because as far as i know if you use plug + battery at the same times or overcharge your battery (while it you use it), it will damage your battery life or your laptop. I don't want this to happen to my laptop. So,I would like to ask to any computer expert/Y50 owner in here, can Lenovo Y50 still function just by using plug without battery in it?

I really appreciate anyone in here can help because I already search about this problem but I could get the answer,
    Thank You

I don't think it will overcharge the battery. BUT, if you are worried about that, you can download the Energy Manager program and check on the "conservation mode" setting, which apparently keeps the battery charged at 55-60%, unless I'm mistaken. I haven't tried it, but that's what the description says.

You are better off leaving the battery in the laptop with the battery health feature mentioned above on than leaving it out of the laptop, where it could possibly fully discharge itself if you leave it for too long.

OK, I didn't get any solid/final answer but from what I understand (after study a few days from various websites), just like Jobine say, better just leave the battery in the Laptop. I will update if I find any final solutin. Btw, Thank to all the people replpy to this thread.
