    Would a T400 Need a Battery To Operate?

    I'm wondering if it's possible to get a super-light configuration by removing both the Ultrabay DVD and the Battery. This would be great for going to and from work (where I just leave an extra power cord).

    Can anyone tell me if the machine is likely to function without any battery installed?
