    Would a T400 Palmrest fit on a T61?

    It looks like it would. The only thing that would concern me is how long the connector for the palmrest is.

    On a T61 widescreen? Maybe. On a model with a 4:3 screen? Probably not.

    I'm OK with my square touchpad. Of course my screen is standard. I've no need for a rectangular touchpad. Besides this is the ThinkPad forum, shouldn't you be using the pointstick?

    sorry to bump, but if someone is still interested, T400 palmrest fits T61 (of course only the widescreen).
    so you get 2 benefits from the replacement:
    - bigger trackpad, and nicer trackpad buttons :)
    - if you get it with fingetprint reader, it is better than it was in T61 (AuthenTec in T400 vs. Upek in T61)
