My father is interested in the x201. So I was wondering if I were to call Lenovo and ask for a better price than the web, would I get it? Are there any strategies?

    Thanks

You might want to give it a try. But from my experience I think you won't get anything besides deals or rebates they can offer you at the moment.

Thanks the x201 coupon from redflagdeals worked. However the order was made before the coupon was added. So now I've sent an email asking them to revise the total by adding the coupon or to cancel the order so I can make another one.

Apparently they only work from Monday to Friday.

Yes you can only call them Mon to Fri, and from 8am to 4pm PST or something like that, recommend you find out for sure as the coupon expires Aug 31.

hmmmm, I couldn't get the couple to work on the cheapest x201. Sometimes their coupons only work on models over a certain price, like $1500.

If you want an SSD, don't buy it from lenovo. You can get a better model, intel x-25, or OCZ Vertex2, from newegg or somewhere else. It'd be best to wait for the 3rd generation intel drives. They are supposed to be for sale before the end of the year. They'll come in 160GB, 300GB, and 600Gb.

Here's the cheapest I could get the x201. How are you configuring yours?

    Price: $1099
