I wanted to know whether a W700 with only b/g wireless would still have a 3rd disconnected antenna to accomodate the a/g/n cards? I see a nice open box/refurbished W700 on eBay i might pull the trigger on but i saw it has the IMO crappy ThinkPad b/g adapter and i'd like to replace it with the old Intel 4965 a/g/n card that was in my T61p, since the stock card only should have two antenna's, but being able to have been configured with an a/g/n or a/b/g/n card, would it still have 3 antenna's and simply one disconnected?

I don't know if it'll work, but is the card going to make that much of a difference? They all work about the same to me.

2510P's 4965AGN only has 2 wires attached. Does the W700 use bios mPCIe whitelisting? It may only allow Lenovo branded 5100/5300 cards to be used.

I was worried about whitelisting, however as i said the 4965 a/g/n card was pulled from my T61p that was crushed, so it may be enough to fool it.

it is not back compatible as far as i know. The 4965 agn won't work in the W700. Because the same card doesn't work in my T400, R500, T500 when i tried it. But it doesn't hurt to try.
Would the Mini PCIe Intel 4965 card work in the W700?
