    Hey guys,
I just received my T61p (after only a week of waiting :D). Upon starting up the computer, i realized that i had received the wrong OS, Vista Home premium rather than XP pro. I called Lenovo and have been given the run around for the past few days.
Basically, the only way im going to get XP pro is to send it back. It seems that they also refuse to refund the extra 30 sum dollars i payed for XP pro. And of course, they refuse to send an xp disk my way.

My question is: has this happened to anyone else, and how did you take care of it?
I was thinking of just accepting the 30 dollar loss and getting xp from a friend, but then i dont know if and where i can get drivers. Some help for a newbie please :)

You can get all of the drivers in that link once you are done putting XP+SP2 (had to be SP2 on my Lenovo 3000 N100), or you could simply use the System Update program that's also downloadable there.

My laptop is mostly set up now barring that the softkeys for suspend/standby and hibernate don't work yet. In fact i can't currently hibernate the machine at all. If you got that part done/figured out, please share with me here. thanks!

Call tech and see if you can get a Windows XP Pro recovery CD set per their OS downgrade offer (from Vista to XP Pro).

Here in Toronto Canada, I got mine rather quick and it was free. Then you can downgrade from Vista to XP Pro.

that's true only if the laptop came with Vista business or the higher notch version. Vista home wouldn't qualify for a free XP CD...
