What is the main diffrence between the two,of course screen size, but is it weight? type of processor...

Why would someone buy one vs the other, the T410s is also very light

-X series 12'' is small, light weight, no graphic card, comfortable to carry
-T series 14'' is big, more weight than X series, both of no graphic card and graphic card
    - W series 15'' is big, max weight, both of no graphic card and graphic card

    - T410s is 14'' monitor like general T series but their body style is different because T410s is light weigh than T410. however, T410s is more weight than X201. so this is the reason why T410s is so expensive - big monitor and light weight.

all their batteries is depend on quantities of cell: 4 cell, 6 cell, 9 cell, and 8 cell for tablet :)

The X series is three pounds.
    The T410s is four pounds.
    The T410 is five pounds.
That's how I look at them. The innards aren't all that different.

If they made the x201 as thin as the x301 I'll be in heaven. Or they could just reintroduce the x301, but update it then that'll even be better.

Your very own T410s is the "reintroduced" X301, my friend. ;)

Yeah I guess your right :D, but wasn't the x301 an entire pound lighter?

That maybe so, but I prefer the smaller body of the X301 vs the T410. Then again a T310 with nvidia or ati gpu would be just as nice.

The T410s uses a 1.8" harddrive while the x-series and T410 use 2.5" drives. If you want to upgrade to an SSD, the 1.8" ones usually cost more than the 2.5".

The T410s' battery is a 6cell, it also has an additional 3cell battery that can replace the CD/DVD drive in the ultrabay media bay in the T410s. Some users have posted that even with the 6cell+3cell they don't get long enough battery life. The x-series and T410 can use either a 6cell or 8cell. The T-410 can also use the 3cell batter that fits in it's ultrabay.

Just a few corrections, for the sake of comparison :p :
    • The X301 uses 1.8" HDDs, not 2.5" ones like the rest of the X-series
    • The X20x-series can use 4-, 6-, and 9-cell batteries
    • The X20x-series Tablets can use 4- or 8-cell batteries
    • The T400 uses 4-, 6-, and 9-cell batteries, while the T500 and Tx10 series use 6- and 9-cell batteries

T4x0s is actually thinner than the X2xx machines.

No. The Fusion APU in x120e comes with Radeon HD 6310, not 6630.

Yep. That and the x-series is one spindle (2.5 HDD/SSD [or 1.8" with adapter]), the T4x0s is a limited two spindle (1.8" SSD/HDD, and modular optical bay), the T410s is a proper two spindle (2.5" SSD/HDD and modular optical bay).

The T4x0s also makes a decent tradeoff in battery options compared to the other models, but is slightly more refined and slimmer.

The X series also has a major advantage in the battery life department, at least in my research. The standard HDD bay is one of the main reasons I went for the X201 over the T410s. I hate being limited in my upgrade path, like I was with my X41.

Hard-drive size has minor effect on SSD performance. I've heard 1.8" is however pricier.

The x41 was extremely slow and was a pata drive. The T410s sata ssd drive is good, I'm waiting till I they get half off.

Its the price issue, and the concern of size limitation that gets to me. I can shoehorn a 1TB spindle drive into my X201 now, if I'm willing to tolerate 5400rpm. My go-to location for computer hardware (newegg) doesn't even have 1.8 inch high capacity hard drives available. The drive size that is considered standard across the board is naturally going to get the newer tech, higher capacities, and better speeds sooner. I just can't justify investing in a machine with a harder to find part.

SSD's will probably change that landscape considerably, but until a massive jump in capacity AND a massive decrease in price takes hold, I doubt that one will end up in my drive bay. I'm already feeling limited by my 500gb drive, and I've only had the laptop for a week.

Biggest advantage of the X-series (12" models) is drastically lower surface area. This is really useful for people who fly a lot or use the machine to take notes in class.

besides the smaller footprint, don't forget the longer battery life on the x-series. those are to two biggest pluses (besides the weight difference).
