Please tell me Lenovo aren't seriously stupid enough to force non-touch users on to a TN, HD+ screen.... please?

Is it possible to get an X1 2nd gen with IPS, WQHD and non-touch? If I cannot, is there a way to get rid of the "touch"-aspects? Software wouldn't be difficult, just use Windows 7. What about hardware, is it just a case of removing some outer-sheet and would this be safe to do?

WQHD without touch is available. See this link: ThinkPad X1 Carbon Business Ultrabook | Lenovo (US). It is also possible to not have touch with a touch screen endowed X1 without resorting to such measures as peeling the protective sheet or uninstalling the driver.....just don't touch the screen.
