I have a slight problem with my X1 Carbon 20A7.

I installed Windows 8.1, updated through Lenovo System Update and then through Windows Update. Since then, i cant get the highest available brightness. I noticed, that when i reinstall Intel Serial IO Driver for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) i get the highest brightness, until i restart the laptop.

Somehow, i think Lenovos Dependency Package are interfering with the brightness and not noticing that an extra 20% or so are available until i reinstall Intel IO and "reboot" the driver...

Does anybody have the same problems on laptops with lenovos preinstalled OS? og have anyone experience the same while reinstalling their OS?

Have you looked at your Power Plan settings and checked the Adaptive Brightness settings? It's the first thing I turn off, I hate the ambient light adjustment. It's great for power savings, but I prefer bright screen.
