If you have an X1 carbon 6th gen, can you please post a screenshot of your device manager? I'm running Windows 10 1803 and I don't see Intel Serial IO I2C Host Controller listed anywhere in my device manager. It used to be there when I was running the Lenovo factory W10 image. After I did a clean format and updated to the latest drivers, it is no longer showing up on the device manager. I have tried installing the latest chipset and Serial I/O drivers since I did the clean install and it still does not show up in device manager.

When I was running the factory lenovo W10 image, I remember seeing these two drivers listed.

Intel(R) Serial IO GPIO Host Controller - INT344B
    Intel(R) Serial IO I2C Host Controller - 9D60

Currently this is what my device manager looks like.

I really don't want to install the factory image. The Serial IO controller is used for the touchpad. My touchpad is sluggish/laggy and I believe it is due to the serial IO controller. Can you please check on your end to see if the Serial IO controller is listed in your device manager?

I reinstalled my OS when I got my current SSD, so I do not have a stock Lenovo install. I do not have those devices, and I do not use the touchpad. I'll check if re-enabling the touchpad does anything. Reenabling the touchpad does not bring back the devices. My touchpad does not seem laggy.

I'll look into this further, but don't expect any usable results.

EDIT: Also, from what I understand, the Synaptics controller should be connected to SMBus, anyways (9D23), which is a superset of I2C used by Intel. That driver should be included in the Intel Chipset drivers (should even have a default Microsoft driver as well).
