    Team,
I just got a new X1 Carbon Gen 2 that was "WWAN Upgradable". I installed a Sierra Wireless Gobi 5000 (EM7355) Verizon card and micro sim card as soon as it arrived yesterday. I have had no problem installing the drivers and getting the computer to properly recognize the card. However, i can not find a VZ Access manager that will recognize the card and activate it. Additionally, I have tried to use the Lenovo Mobile Broadband Activation client to connect but it only shows ATT as a viable option. That said, it seems to recognize my card and shows all of the correct info (IMEI, SIM ICCID, IMSI). Having embedded mobile broadband was a huge factor in my decision to purchase this laptop. I have called Lenovo and Verizon and neither have answers. Lenovo will only point me to the SW driver and Verizon says that it doesnt show anything about the Gobi 5000. Any help would be much appreciated, at this point i am seriously considering sending this laptop back if i cant get this sorted out.
    thank you,
    -T-

Lenovo has finally acknowledged this, and provided us with this as a fix: GOBI 5000 WWAN card unable to connect to Verizon Wireless under Microsoft Windows 7

It involves reverting back to an older version of the Sierra Wireless GOBI 5000 driver, Access Connections, and an older version of Lenovo Mobile Broadband Activation utility, and then following a series of very specific configuration steps (we had to run through it twice). Once we did everything listed on that site, the EM7355 started connecting to Verizon Wireless via the network and sharing center.
