Could someone please tell me how you purchase an additional battery for the X1 Carbon (and also whether the warranty is void if you insert it yourself)?

I had a look on the Lenovo UK website but when I click on the "accessories" page product drop down list it just says "X1" twice and nothing with "Carbon".

Have you figured this out? If the battery starts getting crappy, can we send our X1 Carbons back to Lenovo to have the battery replaced for free (assuming we're still under warranty)?

What do you mean by 'additional' battery?

The posters probably mean a replacement for the internal battery.

The internal battery is not a CRU, so I believe replacing it yourself will indeed void your warranty (hence, replacement batteries for the X1C are not available on Lenovo's website).

Unless it's different for the X1C due to its internal battery, Thinkpads have a 1-year warranty on the battery for excessive wear. If you extend your warranty, the extension does not apply to the battery, unless you specifically extend it for the battery for extra cost. So assuming it's within a year and you're having battery issues, then Lenovo would replace it free of charge.

Yikes, makes me wonder how long or X1C batteries will last before causing a problem for us since we can't replace it ourselves.
