Hi. New Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 2 (Win 8.1) user here.

I can tolerate the keyboard changes for now but I can't stand the wireless dropping constantly!

I've tried everything. Different driver versions, only connecting to 2ghz or 5ghz, limiting speed, etc. But the wireless keep on dropping all the time. I have to go into the network connections and disable/enable the adapter again for it to even see the network and connect. Is this a common problem? I've seen some thread of this problem but not specifically like mine.

My Asus had the Intel AC 7260 and I've never had any problems on that machine on the same wireless router.

Any pointer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Looks like a driver issue. Did you install anything recently? If not, the best way is to get in touch with their technical support and see which wireless driver works best.

Not convinced that it's a driver issue yet. I've tried various versions already. Installed the latest from Intel because the changelog said it fixes connection drop issues...but no dice. There are hundreds of messages on Intel's forum with people complaining about 7260ac.

I wanted to see if X1 Gen 2 users are having similar problems like I am and how they fixed it.

I actually had the same problem, and ended up discarding my old cisco router with a brand new tp-link. It works better now but it still drops connection now and then, but not as much as before.
It seems that 7260 have issues with old networks or maybe when specific devices joins the network? I haven't found the exact problem yet though...

Wow. Just updated to Intel's latest driver released 6/30-ish. Version 17.0.5.8. Now I have ZERO problems. FINALLY!!!

Lenovo hasn't updated their wireless driver package yet (still at 17.0.2), so download directly from Intel here:

Be sure to download both the Bluetooth and Wireless drivers.
